Greenham Common Trust Welcomes new Estates Manager
Greenham Common Trust has welcomed a new estates manager into its fold, as the former post holder, Paul Craggs, has retired after 17 years.
Rupert Holtby, 42, took up the post last month, and has a background which spans 12 years in the Army before a career in the commercial property world.
His property career began at CBRE, which is a leading commercial property and real estate services company.
Here, he took on a variety of roles, including working in the valuation team, and the development and regeneration areas. He then moved across to its sister company, CBRE Global Investors, where he was responsible for the fund and asset management of four pension fund property portfolios. This gave him a breadth of experience across commercial property that he can now use for GCT.
Rupert has said he was drawn to GCT as he admires the aims and commitment behind the Trust.
He said: “I’m very happy to be starting my new role for the Trust. I am motivated and invigorated to be working for an organization that channels profits back into local charities and improving the local community.
“I have begun to meet some of the tenants, but I am keen to meet them all as soon as possible. Understanding their business needs better will help us to shape Greenham Business Park’s future.”
Rupert knows the Newbury and Berkshire area well, having grown up in Hungerford. He now lives with his wife Sarah, and three children, close to Salisbury in Wiltshire. He enjoys being an active participant in local community events, keeps a variety of animals and plays cricket for the neighbouring village team.
Chris Boulton, Chief Executive of Greenham Common Trust said: “While it was with sadness that we said goodbye to Paul, we could not be more delighted with his replacement, Rupert. These are some tough shoes to fill, but already he has taken on his new responsibilities and outlined areas where our portfolio can be improved.”
