Greenham Common Trust has been supporting Southern Sinfonia for over a decade now as part of its commitment and ongoing assistance to the arts in West Berkshire and north Hampshire. It gives us great pleasure to continue funding its biennial Newbury Young Musician of the Year and Newbury Older Musician of the Year competitions.
The Trust’s chief Executive Stuart Tagg said: "Our support for this prestigious award is part of the Trust’s ongoing commitment to give all genres of music more prominence locally and assist those who need help to progress their musical ambitions. There is so much musical talent in West Berkshire and organisations like Southern Sinfonia are crucial in helping to foster that talent."
The Trust also continues to support Southern Sinfonia’s education programme – a support programme in 13 of the district’s primary schools.
This year Southern Sinfonia will be holding Newbury Older Musician of the Year. The final will be held at the Corn Exchange in Newbury in June. For more information please contact Anita Forsyth-Forrest on 01635 580035 or email info@southernsinfonia.co.uk
