Underwriting the cost of venue hire
Local charitable and community organisations that wish to stage a public musical performance can rest easy in the knowledge that any shortfall in ticket sales will be underwritten by the Trust if it cannot be covered by the reactive grant aid scheme. This applies to venue hire only, and not to production costs. Any organisation wishing to make use of this scheme must be able to show a sensible business plan and cost projections for the project.
Organisations which have benefitted from the direct charitable aid are:
Kennet Opera for their performances of Eugine Onegin - £1,500
Kennet Opera for their performance of Captain Noah - £600
Beenham Band concert - £290
South Berks Concert Band - £200
Beenham Band Concert - £700
Beenham Band Corn Exchange Concert - £1,000
Newbury District Amateur Radio Society Event - £230
Newbury District Guiding Association One World One Beat - £2,000
Newbury Electric Proms - £1,500
Thatcham Royal British Legion tea dance fundraiser - £90
Applications for Underwriting of venue hire are at the discretion of the Trust’s Chief Executive Stuart Tagg.
