Mary Hare Foundation – 2010 £2,500 to send eight year 13 students on Duke of Edinburgh Awards Scheme

“Mary Hare is delighted to have the support of Greenham Common Trust. It is very encouraging to have the support of a local grant maker and it has a really positive impact on the pupils who are able to get involved with local trainers, sports leaders and other Duke of Edinburgh participants. The grant helped us to buy vital equipment needed in order to carry out the expeditions.

A Mary Hare pupil who took part in the scheme said:

“To me, the Duke of Edinburgh Awards Scheme has given me the confidence to do almost anything that I never thought I would be able to do. The 3 different sections allow you to learn new skills, learn new techniques, devote time to people, and contribute to everything around you and your environment.”
