Bradfield Church of England Primary School

Bradfield School

Greenham Common Trust gave Bradfield C of E Primary School £23,000 to kickstart its £1.1m Primary Project campaign and unlock the funding needed from the Oxford Diocese to make the school fit for the 21st century.
The school has raised an incredible £180,000 through a huge school and community fundraising initiative and grant aid from local and national charities.

After a decade in the pipeline, the first phase of the Primary Project – a new purpose built hall kitted out with all the latest audio visual equipment, PE Storage, new kitchen and toilets have opened for the school and the local community to enjoy.

The new hall will provide:

  • an area large enough for the children to exercise and play sport indoors, to meet the demands of the full P.E. curriculum, and encourage children to enjoy being healthy and active, whatever the weather.
  • A much larger space, with a high standard of finish for whole school assembly and acoustically resourced for performances.
  • Improved kitchen facilities to prepare healthy food.
  • Additional toilets
  • The second phase of the development of the old hall will provide

  • A secure main entrance to the school.
  • A library area and computer suite.
  • A new classroom.
  • A mezzanine floor will give high quality space above the old hall.
  • Areas for small groups and individual children to work with adults.

Headteacher Andrew How said: ““We could not have achieved our goal without the help and dedication of our community, children, parents and donors. I would like to take this opportunity to extend my sincere thanks on behalf of the school to all those who have given their time, energy and money to ensure that our vision was realised.

The development of the school building and facilities will greatly enhance the learning environment for children and staff, and provide an extremely valuable resouce for the local communities of Bradfield and Stanford Dingley for years to come."

The school still needs your help to raise the remaining funds it needs to complete the second phase of the project. Please visit The www.theprimaryproject.org.uk for more details.
