Outdoor events
Greenham Common Trust has entered into a partnership with Newbury Corn Exchange, Newbury Town Centre Partnership and Outdoor Events Producer Simon Chatterton to bring a range of spectacular and free theatrical events to the town centre.
The Trust has given the Corn Exchange and Newbury Town Centre Partnership a grant of £86,000 a year to put together an exciting programme of events both large and small scale to entertain local residents and attract more people into the town and boost the local economy.

The first year of the programme has been a fantastic success with the large scale events drawing in crowds of up to 3,000 people. Plans are already advancing to make the events even bigger and better in 2011.
The events programme has enabled some local favourites like the Halloween Hullabaloo and the Christmas Lantern parade to become regular fixtures in Newbury’s calendar as well as bringing innovative and spectacular events to the town centre.
Greenham Common Trust Chief Executive Stuart Tagg said: “This outdoor events programme really has put Newbury on the cultural map and is not only benefitting local residents with free entertainment but attracting people from across the region.”
