Greenham Gift 2006 – Winner Newbury and District Crossroads Caring for Carers

Greenham Common Trust's Patrons, Board of Directors and Distribution Committee considered all the 2006 applications and selected a shortlist of twelve from which Newbury Weekly News readers were asked to vote for their favourite project.

The four chosen organisations/projects then presented their proposals to a public meeting at the Corn Exchange on June 6th 2006.

The winning project, selected by the audience at this event to receive £50,000, was Newbury and District Crossroads Caring for Carers.

The four runners up, who each received £8,000 were:

• Alzheimer's Society West Berkshire Branch
• Newbury Carnival
• West Berkshire Disability Alliance
• West Berkshire Citizen's Advice Bureau, who were chosen by the public from the twelve short-listed projects
