£2,500 was awarded to Wash Common Community Association to pay for replacing the existing kitchen fixtures at Wash Common Community Centre.

The grant was used to equip the kitchen with a large electric range and commercial dishwasher. The range replaced an ancient and inefficient cooker and the dishwasher has proved a great asset to anyone using the catering facilties.

In addition to general users the Newbury Stroke Club, who hire the premises weekly and who provide a midday meal for club members, have particularly benefited from the grant.
