£2,000 was awarded to TACT Home Counties to purchase tools for clients to use in a new social enterprise market garden established recently in Englefield.

TACT is a national charity and aims to support people with disabilities in to paid employment. The Englefield project currently has four people with disabilities in paid employment within the market garden and also has volunteers with disabilities.

The market garden has also developed links with the local primary school, local conservation groups and a local willow weaver.

As well as gaining employment experience, the supported workers enjoy the benefits of exercise outdoors, education in healthy eating and an increase in social skills and self-confidence.
