Greenham Common Trust and West Berkshire Partnership Announce Grant Aid Receipients
The names have been announced of the 40 local organisations and projects that have been granted a standard award in the second round of the funding for 2007 from the Greenham Common Trust and the local strategic partnership, West Berkshire Partnership. Successful applications for standard awards include: Berkshire Youth Dance Company, Samaritans of Newbury, Relate Berkshire, Bishops Green Youth Project, Pang Kennet & Lambourn Valleys Countryside Project and the Thatcham Town Harriers Football Club. The major award recipients are: The North Hampshire Medical Fund, which is to receive £25,000 to purchase an Optical Coherence Tomography machine, West Berkshire CAB which has been granted £24,000 to fund four touch screen kiosks, the Community Council for Berkshire will receive £24,500 to fund a development worker and the Berkshire Association of Clubs for Young People has been awarded £27,000 to further develop sports and leisure opportunities in West Berkshire. Glenn Clarkson, chairman of the Greenham Common Trust's Distribution Committee, says: We were once again oversubscribed with applications for funding, highlighting the importance of the income that the Trust and LSP distribute to local people and organisations.
