Open Studios 2004
May 8th – June 13th

Work by Open Studio artist Jane Vaidya

Studio 8, the resident artists at New Greenham Arts, New Greenham Park will open their studios to showcase their work in the West Berkshire and North Hampshire annual “Open Studios” event.

The scheme will have an extended life this year as it will run alongside the Newbury Spring Festival from 8th May for two weeks and continue until the 13th June.

A huge number of artists in the area are involved in the scheme and will be represented in an exciting ‘taster’ exhibition called Insight 2004 in the gallery at New Greenham Arts.

Other artists are involved in collaborative residencies working with schools. ‘Cascade; Birds and Mythology’ brings together dancers, sculptors, a painter and an automata maker. At Priors Court School for Autistic Children, music, dance and the visual arts will feature in a residency called ‘Tempo’.

For visitors who want to experience making art themselves there is a free hands-on workshop programme providing exciting opportunities. May is the time to discover talent in the studios and invest in contemporary art and design by buying works of art. All the works are for sale in the studios and exhibitions. The idea behind Open Studios is to inform and inspire and to show quality and diversity in the visual arts
