Greenham Common Trust wins Sustainability Award

SEEDA Sustainable Business Awards Jim Braithwaite, Stuart Tagg, Andrew Barber, Natasha Kaplinsky

Greenham Common Trust has won a major award for ‘Sustainable Social Enterprise’ at the Sustainable Business Awards for the South East 2004, organised by SEEDA (South East England Development Agency).

The award was presented to the Trust's chief executive, Stuart Tagg by SEEDA's chairman, Jim Braithwaite and the BBC news reader Natasha Kaplinsky, at a glittering ceremony at Thorpe Park, Chertsey, Surrey attended by over 400 people.

Stuart Tagg says: “The Trust was formed in 1997 with a vision of sustaining local charities, environmental and social projects and enabling the restoration of several hundred acres of Greenham Common to lowland heathland through the management of our investment in New Greenham Park.

“We believe that the business park now provides a blue print for sustainable urban regeneration and receiving this award from SEEDA is a tremendous honour and recognition of all that the Trust, our supporters and staff have achieved over the last seven years.”
