£210 was the cost of training for another able bodied volunteer to achieve RDA qualification in Pony Driving, so that they can help with the work of the Newbury Disabled Pony Driving Group.
The Trust's grant will help the volunteer workload as trainer volunteers gather weekly (weather permitting) at a farm where up to 10 disabled adults can learn and practice pony driving in safety and enjoy the countryside.
Able bodied drivers, ponies and carriages all have to pass RDA tests. Three of the Group's carriages are adapted for wheelchair use, and the ponies have to be fed, shod and insured all year round to maintain this service to the disabled.
