Acclaimed cabarettist Barb Jungr, winner of New York's prestigious Backstage 2003 International Artist of the Year award for cabaret, hosts a monthly night at New Greenham Arts. Inspired by her successful Café Prague night in Brighton, Barb introduces guests who'll entertain with a wide mix of European cabaret muusic.

This month Barb Jungr's guests were Askew and Avis, a new British vocal group creating songs and astonishing soundscapes using only their voices and innovative live looping technology. Grooving and danceable and with a world / jazz feel, Rebecca Askew and Jeremy Avis create their music absolutely in the moment. Their fascinating combination of voice and electronica, in that fascinating arena which includes luminaries like Meredith Monk and Laurie Anderson, proved incredibly exciting.
