'LES LIAISONS DANGEREUSE' Shining Lights Theatre Company
Shining Lights returned with their production of Christopher Hampton's masterful adaptation of Laclos' novel about the conspiracy to corrupt a young girl barely out of her convent. Set in France before the revolution, this is nevertheless a play for all time, with its chilling portrayal of the mannered decadence and sexual cynicism of the French aristocracy. This was comedy of the highest theatrical kind: edged with danger, replete with pain and forever reminding us that lives are being ruined with the flick of a well-turned phrase.
This was not only youth theatre at its best but quality ensemble playing rarely seen on the professional stage Newbury and Thatcham Chronicle |
