The Departure Project

Works by Luisa Menamo, Yugo Minami, Mar Arza and Pilar Beltrán showed the development of this multi-cultural group and their emotional journey through life.

They described their project as "a journey, the beginning of a journey, our common journey, the starting point of a collaborative project that will take us to new heights. Our aim is to travel together, learn together and expand our frontiers."

The exhibition showed a close collaboration between the members of the group. From initial discussions about their common interests a single subject was chosen and developed. Although the final pieces were individual works, the process of elaboration was a shared journey.

The show evoked...“the possiblity of a journey to another place or another attitude. What lies beyond? A better world with more possibilities, or a confining space, physical and intellectual?”
