'HAPPY WITH HALF YOUR LIFE' Vanessa O'Neill
This was the autobiographical tale of Jess, an Australian art school student in London after the death of her grandmother. In this one-woman feel-good show Jess becomes engrossed in her self-discovery and new found anonymity as she finds herself caring for a succession of elderly folk to earn a crust. Actress Vanessa O'Neill portrayed a number of characters from the 21 year old Jess, to an elderly posh Londoner, cockney employer Harvey and a German arts patron.
"This is a near-perfect slice of monologue theatre, heartfelt and courageous, clever and funny, thought-provoking and life-affirming...A captivating performer...O'Neill looks straight down the barrel of her audience and tells Jess like she is." The Scotsman, 2002 |
