BEN AND JOE BROUGHTON
Ben and Joe Broughton performed on fiddle, guitar, bass, vocals, harmonica and piano, with blues and jazz thrown into the folk mix. Both Ben and Joe have strong connections with the legendary Albion Band; Joe having actually been part of them for many years and Ben plays bass in blues outfit, Clean Feet, with Neil Marshall and Ken Nicol, both former Albion musicians.
Talented musicians and lecturers they both may be, but they are also well known for their sense of humour. Ben has been referred to as the razor-witted Pete Townsend of the acoustic guitar. And The Ledge noted that Joe's in-between-song banter would put most comedians to shame.
Ben and Joe's performance is instinctively tight with a combination of musicianship, enthusiasm and humour. Newbury Weekly News |
