'DILEMMA'
Janice Thwaites

A selection of provocative sculptures and images questioning the way we use animals in our lives. Thwaites' background in the antiques trade goes some way to explaining her fascination with the morbidly beautiful and exotic, but beastly - animal fur, skin and other body parts - this obsessive concern with what many people now consider taboo material.

"The work is not intended to preach militant veganism, merely to raise the question, the dilemma which most humans face when confronted by images that address our potential for cruelty and vanity. It is this sensation which the artist tries to tackle head-on without answering the questions raised by the work, leaving them open to the viewer to try to decide."
