'RICH PICTS' - the latest in computer art. |

 |
The work included James Faure Walker's digital paint brushes, Kerry John Andrews' installation of sound and image and digital video from Marty St James.
Some were editions of prints such as the geometric cross and wave pattern shapes generated by Andrew Greaves, one-off pieces such as Penelope Wakeham's pictures constructed from multiple layers, or virtual pieces from Jennie Boulter using iconography both personal and from children with learning difficulties. Anne Smith linked with the past by combining original paintings with personal drawings, and virtual futuristic landscapes belonged to Mike King. Laurence Gartel's art resounded deeply of America, and the work of Spanish-born and London-living Guillem Ramos Poqi said much about current trends and philosophies.
"Forget any reservations you have about the artificiality of computer-generated work. What comes over are the possibilities for individuality, and the personal nature of the work on show. This exhibition is a must for all of us who are concer
ned about the parameters of fine art and have a genuine interest in exploring exciting new boundaries." Gavin Wilkinson, Newbury Weekly News
