'FOUND REMAINS' - a solo exhibition by Fiona Robinson.
"The exhibition continues to explore concerns addressed in 'Exquisite Residues', the artist's solo show at Havant Arts Centre in June 2000. The paintings are very internalised; a fusion of the formal, the emotional process. Time and memory are their subject. They are also informed by physical objects: stones on the beach; residues from old buildings; anything which can be gathered, held, felt, turned over in the hand and which evokes memory. The 'found' object can also be intangible: the sound of a wave, the flight of a seagull or the movement of water. Through intense concentration and passage of time the painting itself becomes a found object but hidden within it is remains of the original memory." Visit Fiona at www.seapink.f9.co.uk
"In combining ideas about time with those about repetition and memory [Fiona] has produced an exhibition which is aesthetically pleasing and emotionally and intellectually stimulating." Debbie MacGregor, Newbury Weekly News |
