DRAWING FACTIONS - an exhibition of work by Tim Blake, Predrag Pajdic and Paul Ryan, three London based artists who focus on drawing. Tim Blake's work is heavily influenced by cinematic and photographic techniques, and his work aims to assimilate the unavoidable media influences, such as fashion and advertising, which surround us. Predrag Pajdic has been making very large drawings often based around old master paintings but using an intricate lattice of lines overlaid with imaginary scribbles and writing. Paul Ryan's works are a visual diary spanning fifteen years. The large works in pen and ink imitate the small marks of the tiny sketches, be they figurative images or abstract doodles.
"These three artists explore similar concerns, the central role of drawing to practice and a fascination of what lies beneath the surface, in a way that creates an interesting dialogue between their work." Fiona Robinson, Newbury Weekly News
