At the same time as the Open Studio Scheme exhibition, and again as part of Newbury Spring Festival there was another exhibition of drawings from schools and colleges, entitled 'IMAGES FROM MUSIC AND POETRY'. This exhibition was held both at New Greenham Arts, where works by Secondary Schools were on view, and at Newbury Town Hall, where Primary Schools were showing their work.

"Many visual artist have found inspiration in music and poetry. The arts are underpinned by what they share, just as much in the field of education as in the world of the practising artist. Jazz, pop, classical and ethnic music and poetry have provided the stimulus for an exhibition of drawings by young people from the age of 4 - 18."
