Welcome to Greenham Common Trust, Newbury

Greenham Common Trust works in close partnership with the local community providing financial support for charitable projects and purposes in West Berkshire and the northern edges of North Hampshire.

Since its establishment in 1997 Greenham Common Trust has so far distributed over £14 million of grants and financial awards to organisations and projects through its programme of bi-annual awards.

Chief executive Stuart Tagg says: “We embrace the idea of creating innovative solutions for the voluntary sector and local community and encourage charities to work closely in partnership with local authorities and the private sector to maximise the benefit to the local community.”

The Trust is able to do all of this thanks to the investment in its main asset and trading subsidiary, Greenham Business Park - a 150-acre business park on the site of the former Greenham Common airbase. Click here to visit the Park

The work of Greenham Common Trust has been officially recognised with The Queen’s Award For Enterprise: Sustainable Development. The Trust first received this prestigious honour in 2003 and then, for the second time, in 2008.

Major Projects

As well as our annual programme of grant awards, Greenham Common Trust also gives financial support to projects which are deemed to be a major benefit to the local community. Since 1997 the Trust has given millions of pounds to support projects such as a digital x-ray for West Berkshire Community Hospital and ultra-sound and laser surgery equipment for the Pelican Cancer Foundation in Basingstoke.

Partnership Projects

Greenham Common Trust has forged close links with charitable and community partnerships to enhance services for local residents. Over the last three years the Trust has acquired property to allow those partnerships to develop and enhance the broad benefits they deliver to the community.
