'THE GREENHAM MUSEUM - THE GREENHAM RESORT ' Roger Perkins Monday 18th February - Friday 11th April The Gallery
Coming to New Greenham Arts...the newly refurbished Greenham Common Museum - home to the History of The Greenham Holiday Resort.
In its 1950's and 1960's heyday Greenham Holiday Resort could boast that it was the place to go to relax and enjoy the modest but modern facilities it had to offer. Yet, nowadays, few people will remember it at all or that it was such a popular holiday destination.
Many people visiting our museum for the first time will be surprised by this post-war government initiative and how much it was enjoyed and appreciated by its visitors. So come and visit us to see for yourself!

'HOME' Robert Golden Thursday 5th - Friday 27th June The Gallery
'Home' is an exhibition by Robert Golden of 70 black and white photographs interspersed with documentary films, texts and some traditional music. As tourism, fast food joints, brands, movies, language and music travel across borders without constraint, a homogenization of culture is occurring in which people lose not only the sense of where they belong but the memory of belonging, the sense of HOME itself…the place which is distinctive and theirs. 'Home' reveals the demise of the British Industrial working class in the 1970s and the global financial and cultural assault on farmers and rural areas today around Europe.

'SKIES' Giles Penfound Thursday 3rd July - Friday 1st August The Gallery
Sometimes gentle, sometimes capricious, sometimes awful, never the same for two months together; almost human in its passions, almost spiritual in its tenderness, almost Divine in its infinity. Bayard Ruskin, The True and Beautiful - The Sky
One of the simpler and less contentious truths I have realised is that we all tend to ignore in varying degrees that which we see every day. We see the sky every day but seldom are conscious of the truly staggering beauty that is inherent in its form. Perhaps on occasion we might remark at the beauty of a sunrise or sunset, the dark brooding menace of a thunder storm; but what of all the other vistas that are present every day and night?
