funding for the local community
Greenham Common Trust is focused on the long-term goal of social progress and is committed to making a real difference to the fortunes and lives of the whole community. The Trust has become an important source of funding in West Berkshire and North Hampshire:
Through its annual reactive grant awards, managed by its Distribution Committee, Greenham Common Trust distributes around £250,000 a year |
In 2006 the Trust announced a new community funding project - The Greenham Gift - which allows the public to choose a good cause from a short list of applicants for up to £50,000 funding. |
In 2005 the Trust constructed the Slater Centre on New Greenham Park, as a high quality facility for the local voluntary sector. It is home to a number of local organisations, including Link Up and the Community Furniture Project, and the Trust also subsidises these organisations' accommodation costs. |
The Trust spends about £200,000 a year funding New Greenham Arts which is managed on the Trust's behalf by the Newbury Corn Exchange |
